Culzean Castle
Culzean Castle (pronounced Kull-ane) is located near the A77 four miles west of Maybole. The castle, which was built between 1777 and 1792 by Robert Adam, and the 600 acre country park estate in which it resides are now owned by the National Trust for Scotland.

Perched on a clifftop overlooking the Firth of Cylde the castle was used for the exterior shots of Lord Summerisle's castle in the Wicker Man.
